Anger Management Course
Purpose of Anger Management Course
Our anger management course is designed to reduce the reoccurrence of an individual committing acts of aggression by examining the “trained patterns of control.” This course is designed to help the offenders examine their behaviors, attitudes and actions.
Anger Management may be court-ordered.
This one day 8 hour Program is not to be used as a substitute for a 26 week Batterer’s Intervention Program for Domestic Violence cases.
Anger Management Course Format
- One day, 8-hour course.
- Small classes (up to 20 students) to maximize student participation and personalized attention.
- Uses exercises and thought provoking questions with intense self-examination to explore human behavior, and consequences of negative behaviors and actions.
- Students use “Men’s Work CurriculumTM” to learn new rules and new roles in personal relationships and with others.
- Each student receives a workbook.
Anger Management Course Content
Based upon the nationally-recognized Men’s Work Program Curriculum of the Oakland Men’s Project.
- Cause, effect and consequences of failure to manage their anger.
- Impulse control and alternative behavior.
- Taking control and being responsible for one's own attitudes and behaviors.
- Identifying and distinguishing between wants, desires and needs.
- Goal setting and establishing priorities.
- Defining and clarifying personal values, new rules and new roles.
- Stress management, self-motivation and trust building exercises.
- Identifying and defining positive behavior and attitude for a crime-free life.
Registration
Students may register by visiting or calling any of our office locations throughout Central Florida. If court-ordered, it is recommended that he bring in a copy of the order. Registration offices are located in Orlando, Kissimmee, Longwood, Merritt Island, and Melbourne.
